"Creativity is seeing what others see and thinking what no one else ever thought." - Albert Einstein

Applecrest Farm Family Fun Day Saturday September 17th 2PM All are welcome (bring a friend) to join other HA families outside of school for a beautiful afternoon at Applecrest Farm 133 Exeter Rd Hampton Fall, NH. Enjoy picking your own apples, feeding the goats, browsing the store, or getting a bite to eat with friends! We will gather where the goats are at 2PM. Student Directory The 2022-2023 Student Directory has been sent home with your child. If you see an error or wish to update any information, please contact Miss Kate delgiacco@hampsteadacademy.org HA Fun Run Friday September 23rd 3PM Hampstead Academy will be raising funds throughout the year. Money collected through donations like the Fun Run will go toward supplies for student projects, teacher appreciation week, as well as other fun activities for the students during the school year. Our first fundraiser will be a quick 30 minute fun run for students. A pledge form will be going home with students today. Please reach out to Miss Kate delgiacco@hampsteadacademy.org with any questions. Rain date will be September 30th. Coffee with Mindy During the last week of each month, our Head of School will reserve a morning to spend with parents over coffee or tea. On Friday, September 30th at 9:00am parents are welcome to come on in and chat about how things are going, and share/discuss some fun ideas for future events and activities. Hampstead Academy Makerspace with Ms. Cummings Wednesday October 5th 5PM - 6:30PM SIGN UP HERE and join us at Hampstead Academy for a Makerspace Night, where creativity and engineering practices unite to spark ideas, collaboration, perseverance, and joy! For this first time, you can arrive without supplies, but please bring your can-do attitude. Chances are, once you discover the many ways that you can upcycle your recycled materials, you will most likely be turning your recycle bin at home into a receptacle for a variety of ideas. We have limited space for 25 students to participate. Parents are welcome to come and have fun creating, but please keep in mind this makerspace is student driven and will be a chance for students to explore their own ideas and initiate design and construction. If there is space remaining for students outside of our Hampstead Community, we would love to have them join us. Bring a friend for a $5.00 admission fee to cover the cost of supplies. I hope to see you in the upstairs STEAM Lab on Wednesday, October 5, from 5:00 - 6:30, for our first Makerspace Night! STEAM Club SIGN UP HERE Mr. Thomas Meehan, Mae Marie’s father, has been kind enough to lead the STEAM Club. The cost is $8/hour for students not attending scheduled Extended Day. Students scheduled for Extended Day are welcome to join the club in place of their extended day hour. Seats are limited to 10 and are first come first reserve. The STEAM Club Mission is to provide an environment where STEAM can be explored and practiced as a team of individuals that contribute to each other’s success. The core activities of the STEAM club will be a collaborative effort to learn how to navigate STEAM documentation and instruction in the form of digital and print materials where appropriate. The building of skill in quiet focus for observation and practice of STEAM where appropriate. Following instruction, using tools and technology, managing projects and other activities to support STEAM focused concepts.

Highlights of Week Stay updated on what’s happening in your Class DoJo and follow Hampstead Academy Events & News

During creative writing, Ms. St. Pierre’s class took a step outside to work on silent observation and putting to paper what they wonder.

Our Pre-K friends continued forming friendships through play! Building ramps for cars, painting, and going on bear hunts were all part of exploring together.

Ms. Cummings continued to focus on her coding curriculum and included her youngest programmers this week! Grades K - 2 were asked the question “What is A.I.?” while working with a coding program to help save the ocean!

Genius hour this week was filled with friends! Older students paired up and helped our younger students answer questions like “How does an owl’s head move around?” or “What happens to animals when they go into space?” Students are exploring their curiosities and learning how to do research to find the answers to their own questions.

In Ms. Faro’s art class, students have been learning the color wheel and how it shows the relationship between primary colors, secondary colors, and tertiary colors.

In Art, Grades 3-5 have been putting the finishing touches on their self portraits!

In Ms.Farrell’s music class, students are practicing rhythm by keeping the beat while singing “Kye Kye Kule”.

Having some Friday fun to finish the week!
