Invitations OPEN HOUSE October 19th 6PM-7PM Hampstead Academy will be hosting an OPEN HOUSE for prospective parents. Staff will be available to give a tour and answer questions about the academy and the admissions process. We would love to have one or two parent volunteers attend and speak about your positive experience at Hampstead Academy. Please reach out to Miss Kate delgiacco@hampsteadacademy.org if you are interested in speaking to prospective parents who may potentially join the academy.
Coffee with Mindy During the last week of each month, our Head of School will reserve a morning to spend with parents over coffee or tea. On Friday, September 30th at 9:00am parents are welcome to come on in and chat about how things are going, and share/discuss some fun ideas for future events and activities.
Hampstead Academy Makerspace with Ms. Cummings Wednesday October 5th 5PM - 6:30PM SIGN UP HERE and join us at Hampstead Academy for a Makerspace Night, where creativity and engineering practices unite to spark ideas, collaboration, perseverance, and joy! For this first time, you can arrive without supplies, but please bring your can-do attitude. Chances are, once you discover the many ways that you can upcycle your recycled materials, you will most likely be turning your recycle bin at home into a receptacle for a variety of ideas. We have limited space for 25 students to participate. Parents are welcome to come and have fun creating, but please keep in mind this makerspace is student driven and will be a chance for students to explore their own ideas and initiate design and construction. If there is space remaining for students outside of our Hampstead Community, we would love to have them join us. Bring a friend for a $5.00 admission fee to cover the cost of supplies. I hope to see you in the upstairs STEAM Lab on Wednesday, October 5, from 5:00 - 6:30, for our first Makerspace Night!
STEAM Club SIGN UP HERE Mr. Thomas Meehan, Mae Marie’s father, has been kind enough to lead the STEAM Club. The cost is $8/hour for students not attending scheduled Extended Day. Students scheduled for Extended Day are welcome to join the club in place of their extended day hour. Seats are limited to 10 and are first come first reserve. The STEAM Club Mission is to provide an environment where STEAM can be explored and practiced as a team of individuals that contribute to each other’s success. The core activities of the STEAM club will be a collaborative effort to learn how to navigate STEAM documentation and instruction in the form of digital and print materials where appropriate. The building of skill in quiet focus for observation and practice of STEAM where appropriate. Following instruction, using tools and technology, managing projects and other activities to support STEAM focused concepts.
